Ukrainian border guards received mobile thermal imaging systems from the European Union.
The press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported on this.
The transfer of the systems took place within the framework of the EU Support to Strengthening Integrated Border Management in Ukraine (EU4IBM-Resilience) project.
The event was attended by First Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service Volodymyr Nikiforenko and EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová.
The equipment handover ceremony also took place with the participation of project implementers, representatives of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
“It is worth noting that within the framework of the cooperation established last year, border guards have already received radios, mobile X-ray scanners, and rehabilitation equipment for SBGSU personnel,” the statement said.
Volodymyr Nikiforenko thanked the Ambassador and international partners for their strong and consistent support in countering Russia’s military aggression.
And also for many years of successful cooperation and effective implementation of joint international technical assistance projects.
For her part, the EU Ambassador expressed her support and readiness to intensify further development of cooperation with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as well as to introduce new joint projects and initiatives.
Previously, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine received vehicles and supplies worth over UAH 66 million.
The MHP company and the BGV Charitable Foundation provided aid for border guards.
In particular, 42 Iveco EuroCargo trucks and one front-end loader were transferred to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Border guards also received drone components, whose purpose is not officially disclosed.
