Ukrainian border guards fighting in the Kherson direction received a batch of mobile electronic warfare systems.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine announced this on its official website.
These electronic warfare systems are designed to counter enemy drones.
The border guards received several powerful EW systems within their cooperation with the Dolmativka, Novovorontsovo, and Khrestivka communities and with the support of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
The transferred electronic warfare systems are designed to create communication interference between the operator and the enemy unmanned aerial vehicle.
The State Border Guard Service notes that these EW systems are designed to protect both cars and armored vehicles and the positions of Ukrainian soldiers from enemy drones.
Last December, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine authorized new models of domestic electronic warfare systems designed to counter UAVs for use in the military.
Prior to that, the Defense Ministry, together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, completed the testing of tactical electronic warfare equipment developed by Ukrainian enterprises to counter loitering munitions and FPV drones.
During the tests, the systems confirmed their characteristics in close-to-combat conditions.
These EW systems are currently recommended for provision to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Last December, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also adopted a bill that simplified the imports of electronic warfare (EW) equipment into Ukraine.
Taxation will not be applied to goods received by law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces, and security and defense forces.
