Ukrainian 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled wheeled howitzer is mass-produced in several versions.

Vladyslav Belbas, General Director of Ukrainian Armor Company in the Security Talks program, reported this.

The company is involved in the production of a domestic 155mm self-propelled artillery system.

Ukrainian Armor Company is armoring the wheeled chassis and installing an armored cockpit on it, which protects the gunners from bullets and shrapnel.

According to Belbas, Bohdana is currently being produced in several versions to meet the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

This probably regards the self-propelled guns on the MAZ-6317 and Tatra T815-7 chassis, which the Ukrainian gunners already use at the front.

Vladyslav Belbas noted that this approach was a conscious decision that helped speed up the production of new wheeled ACS and transfer them to the Ukrainian military.

Several concepts were implemented to accelerate its serial production, which launched into operation.

The exact number of ordered domestic 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled guns is for obvious reasons a secret. However, the General Director of Ukrainian Armored Vehicles noted that the current order allows viewing the number of artillery installations released upward.

He also noted that the project of the Ukrainian wheeled 155mm howitzer is moving through development: “This is not a wish, this is already me stating a fact that it is developing. And you will be very surprised when you see the results,” Belbas noted.

Previously, the developers revealed the characteristics of the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled guns. It was stated that the artillery unit had a 155mm gun with a 52 calibers barrel length and a rate of fire of 5 rounds per minute. Its ammunition is 20 shells.

The horizontal angle of rotation of the gun is between -30 and 30 degrees, and the rise is between -5 and 65 degrees. The firing range is up to 40-42 km. A minute and a half is needed to bring the ACS into combat position, and the same time is required to transfer it to transport position.
