Howard Buffett donated $2.7 million to the Ukrainian servicemen and joined the list of famous philanthropists who help Ukraine.
This was announced by Buffett himself in an interview with CNBC.
Charitable funds were transferred to Spirit of America, an American organization that supports Ukrainians defending their homeland from Russian aggression.
This company will send nine buses for Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces.
These funds will also purchase 375 newest trauma kits for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the frontline.
In an interview with CNBC, Howard Buffett called for support for Ukraine:
“I’ve never quite seen anything like this in my lifetime. It’s millions of refugees trying to leave the country and it’s just an overwhelming situation for the country… I believe we’ve got to support Ukraine in this fight. It’s a difficult fight for them,” Buffett said.
Howard is the son of billionaire Warren Buffett. Howard heads the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and is the director of the Berkshire Hathaway multinational conglomerate.
The primary focus areas of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation are conflict mitigation, food security, and combating human trafficking.
Howard Buffett visited Ukraine last week. On Wednesday, June 8, he met with the President of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelensky invited Howard Buffett to invest in Ukraine. He suggested joining projects on restoring irrigation systems in the Odesa Region, demining throughout the country, and school nutrition reform.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, many American celebrities have joined in helping Ukraine.
