Ukrainian benefactors paid for the overhaul of armored vehicles that had been removed from storage.
The Come Back Alive Foundation said that together with the oil and natural gas extraction company Ukrnafta, they had repaired 10 armored vehicles.
The repaired MT-LBU and BMP-1 tracked vehicles will be handed over to Territorial Defense Forces.
“The UAH 25,191,500 donation from Ukrnafta turned into repaired MT-LBU and BMP-1,” the foundation said.
The vehicles have undergone all the cycles – repair of engines, fuel and hydraulic systems, etc.
The MT-LBU and BMP-1 are versatile vehicles that will significantly strengthen Territorial Defense Forces brigades performing tasks in the hotspots of the frontline.
The MT-LB tracked vehicles can be used as an ambulance or modernized for fire support. BMP-1 is an infantry fighting vehicle with a powerful 73-mm gun.
The first vehicles have already passed factory tests after repair and are ready to perform combat missions on the front line.
“The Foundation and the Command of Territorial Defense Forces, with the support of Ukrnafta, restored ten units of armor that were in storage and needed major repairs,” the foundation added.
In addition, in 2023, Ukrnafta helped Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine to restore MT-LBU and IFVs.
“This equipment saves lives on the front line. These vehicles can be used for medical evacuation, transportation of people and goods, or as tractors. In addition, they are equipped with special equipment to provide emergency medical care,” the company said.
Last December, Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation said that 49 vehicles and 7 engines had been restored and repaired as part of the Trophy Armor project.
