Belarus continues to deploy units of the Special Operations Forces on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.

The Belaruski Gayun monitoring group reported on this.

It is reported that the total number of units at the border continues to be 400-500 people, and they are located in the same locations as before.

The battalion of the 103rd Separate Guards Airborne Brigade of the SOF of the Belarusian Armed Forces continues to be stationed near the Zyabrovka military air base.

In addition, a detachment of the 5th Brigade of the Special Operations Forces remains at its deployment point near Mozyr.

The Belaruski Gayun monitoring group notes that in July, additional forces of the Belarusian Armed Forces were withdrawn from the border and deployed during the so-called “combat readiness check.”

As previously reported, the Ministry of Defense and the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus launched a joint information campaign against Ukraine at the end of June.

Since June 21, 2024, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus have been conducting readiness checks, which started the day after Belarusian border guards announced an alleged increase in the Ukrainian group near the Belarusian border.

During that week, the Belarusian Defense Ministry published daily reports about the inspection. To create the impression of serious “maneuvers,” even preparations for a military parade were presented as an inspection.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry stated that the Polonez MLRS division was participating in tasks to cover the state border.

Reports of the transfer of Belarusian Special Operations Forces to the border appeared back in February.

On February 15, the Belarusian government announced the introduction of a counterterrorism operation in the border village of Lyelchytsy, Lyelchytsy district, Gomel region.
