The Armed Forces of Belarus have dispatched another group of signal corps soldiers to undergo training in Russia.
The Belaruski Gayun monitoring group reported on this.
The group stated that the soldiers belong to the 127th Communications Brigade of military unit 30677, which is based in Kalodzishchy, Minsk district.
The specific nature of the exercises these Belarusian signal corps soldiers will participate in was not disclosed.
As previously reported, in August there were repeated reports of Belarusian soldiers being sent to Russia to participate in unknown training exercises.
On August 13, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus reported that units of the missile troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus had gone to Russia to conduct a field exercise.
The Belaruski Gayun monitoring group suggests that these are units of the 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade (unit 12180) and the 465th Missile Brigade (unit 61732), armed with Polonez-M MLRS and Iskander-M missile systems, respectively.
On August 26, footage was published of one of the divisions of the 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade armed with 300mm Smerch MLRSs. The unit went to Russia “to practice combat use”.
On August 25, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Belarus to withdraw its troops from the Ukrainian border to a distance beyond the range of the neighboring country’s combat systems.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Armed Forces of Belarus are concentrating military personnel, equipment, tanks, artillery, MLRS and air defense systems in the Gomel region near Ukraine’s northern border under the guise of exercises.
In addition, mercenaries of the Russian private military company Wagner were spotted at the borders.
The Belaruski Gayun monitoring group details that the number of military personnel is about 1,100, and this number does not pose a threat to Ukraine.
