In Belarus, in the Gomel region, another border post will be built on the border with Ukraine.
The Belarusian publication Flagstok reported that the post will be located in the village of Svecha.
These works, which will cost nearly 1 million Belarusian rubles (approximately $300,000), are to be completed by early August 2026.
Flagshtok reviewed the documentation for the published tender and found that the site for the construction of the border post complex is located 860 meters from the small village of Svecha, directly on the border with Ukraine. The total area of the land plot is 6.5 hectares.
In 2025, it was announced that four more new border guard post complexes were planned for construction in the region along the border with Ukraine.
In early 2026, the State Border Committee of Belarus announced that five border guard post complexes are set to be built this year in the Gomel and Brest regions on the border with Ukraine.
Belarus is also set to launch an ammunition plant this year, with Russia being one of its main customers.
