The Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Belarus has launched the readiness inspection of the tank battalion of one of the mechanized brigades.

The Ministry of Defense of the country stated this on its social media pages.

It is reported that during the inspection, the battalion will be manned up, and weapons, military, and special equipment will be removed from storage and prepared for use.

The main aspect of the inspection is the involvement of military personnel who previously served in tank units of the Western Military District.

During the exercises, the Belarusian tank unit practiced a march to overcome the water obstacle on the pontoon bridge, led by the soldiers of the 557th Engineering Brigade.

After overcoming the water barrier, the tank unit occupied the concentration area and started preparing weapons and equipment for use.

The photos capture a T-72B with a welded-on “grill,” which had been demonstrated only once before, at least officially, on the modernized T-72BM2 in 2022.

Militarnyi recently reported that Belarus will construct a military training ground in the Gomel region bordering Ukraine.

A training ground and a military camp will be built as part of the infrastructure deployment of the newly created Southern Operational Command in the Gomel region.

The preparatory work for construction is currently underway. The exact location of the military facility is, as of now, unknown.

However, proximity to railway infrastructure plays an important role in its placement. This is necessary for the ease of transportation of goods and heavy tracked vehicles.

Earlier, in September, it was reported that the Belarusian territorial defense uses the captured Ukrainian-made KrAZ Cobra armored vehicle.
