The Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (JAS) and Turkish defense company Baykar have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a Center for Aviation and Space Technologies for children and youth in Kyiv.
The agreement was signed at TEKNOFEST-2025 in Istanbul.
The event is one of the world’s largest aviation and space technology festivals, the Ukrinform news agency reported.
“We are cooperating with the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and plan to create a scientific center in Kyiv, similar to those already operating in Turkish cities. We want this to be a social project and a technological bridge between the two countries,” Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar told Ukrinform.
Stanislav Dovhy, president of the JAS of Ukraine, shared that the center will include laboratories, workshops, and training facilities for teachers in natural and technical sciences.
“I am confident that by joining forces, we are laying the foundation for new initiatives that will inspire young people to engage in science,” he said.
During TEKNOFEST-2025, the JAS of Ukraine also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, an organization that promotes science and technology among young people and supports technological entrepreneurship.
