In the Zaporizhzhia region, near the village of Mala Tokmachka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces defeated an armored convoy.
The 118th Mechanized Brigade reported that in the evening of August 29th, the enemy attempted to storm the positions of the Defense Forces.
The invaders’ assault group was moving towards the road that separates the occupied village of Novopokrovka and Mala Tokmachka.
The first in the convoy was a Russian tank equipped with a mine trawl designed to overcome Ukrainian minefields.
Artillery and attack drones opened fire on the enemy convoy.
“The first tank was stopped by engineering barriers. The second one was stopped by coordinated actions of drones and anti-tankers. However, this did not stop the enemy,” the military said.
Using the damaged equipment, Russian infantry tried to break through into the forest to hide from Ukrainian drones and artillery.
The Ukrainian military reported that the battle had resulted in the destruction of:
“In the first hours of the offensive, the enemy suffered significant losses in manpower – 22 killed and 14 wounded were confirmed. The destruction of enemy infantry continues,” the brigade added.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on August 31st, the Ukrainian Defense Forces had repelled another attack by Russian troops in the Orikhiv direction.
In 2025, the Zaporizhzhia sector remains active for the Russian occupation forces. It is possible that the offensive will continue as part of the fall campaign.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian military recently destroyed a group of invaders near the village of Temyrivka in Zaporizhzhia.
