The Defense Forces of Ukraine stopped attacks by Russian forces on the fortress city of Bakhmut.
Recently, the 71st Separate Jager Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces repulsed an enemy attack near Bakhmut.
Several dozen invaders tried to recapture combat positions from Ukrainian paratroopers.
“The fortifications were held by only a few soldiers, so they resorted to military tricks,” the Brigade reprsentatives explained.
They retreated to a certain distance and directed Ukrainian artillery at the enemy.
The assault unit of the Russian forces was first hit by fire from armored vehicles, in particular from a MaxxPro armored vehicle, and then finally destroyed with small arms.
“In general, in that battle, the paratroopers successfully destroyed about two dozen invaders,” one of the soldiers said.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said that their soldiers also neutralized an assault unit of the invaders. Ten Russian soldiers tried to check the strength of the defensive positions of one of the border units.
The border guards noted the invaders approach in advance and were ready to meet the enemy: “The barrage of fire from our mortars stunned the invaders, the latter laid down to save themselves.”
The border guards suddenly approached the enemy under the cover of shelling and eliminated most of the invaders’ detachment. The rest of the troopers received various injuries and retreated. As a result of the attempted assault, the Russian invasion forces of the rifle division lost six people and had four wounded.
In its turn, the National Guard showcased how they destroyed the enemy’s ammunition depot, which was discovered with the help of operational aerial reconnaissance.
“The depot contained grenade launchers, rack-mounted automatic grenade launchers, grenades and ammunition for small arms,” the National Guard said.
