The British company Babcock International will repair and maintain the British equipment transferred to Ukraine.

Babcock has been awarded a contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to support and repair British equipment located in Ukraine.

The initial 12-month contract is worth around £50 million.

The contract will see Babcock provide operational support to armored vehicles provided by the UK to the Ukrainian military, such as Challenger 2 tanks, the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) known as CVRT, FV432 armored personnel carriers, Stormer armored personnel carriers, and others.

In addition to repairs, the company’s specialists will train the Ukrainian personnel to service the provided equipment, as well as provide spare parts for them.

This step strengthens the cooperation between the Government of the United Kingdom and Ukraine.

“This contract delivers essential support for Ukraine on the battlefield, sustaining their military equipment by providing the expertise and skills to keep Ukraine’s armored vehicles moving, along with the provision of vital spares. Our support for Ukraine is unwavering and will continue, for as long as it takes,” Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said.

The Minister of Defense also recalled the recently signed agreement with the Ukroboronprom State Concern to implement joint projects and possibly produce British equipment and missiles in Ukraine.

Militarnyi previously reported that the United Kingdom will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package, which will include combat vehicles and a logistical assistance package.

The British government stated on Tuesday that it will provide Ukraine with more than 70 combat and logistic vehicles and a 50 million pound ($64.7 million) support package for equipment repair.

The package should also include thousands of ammunition rounds for Challenger 2 tanks.
