A night FPV drone of the 12th Azov Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine destroyed a Russian TOS-1А Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system in the Donetsk region.
The brigade’s press service reported on this.
It is reported that the heavy flamethrower system was on its way to attack the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kreminna sector.
It was discovered and destroyed on the march near the village of Terny, located on the border of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
The ammunition of the combat vehicle immediately detonated, leaving no chance for the crew to survive.
“This destruction was made possible thanks to the fundraisers for night drones. More such drones mean more destroyed Russian artillery systems,” the Azov Brigade emphasized.
On March 11, Militarnyi reported that a drone of the 46th Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the TOS-1А Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system in the Donetsk region.
The incident took place near the Russian-held Mariinka in the Donetsk region, which continues to be one of the most active areas along the Russian-Ukrainian front.
The powerful explosion that completely destroyed the launcher after a Ukrainian FPV drone hit it indicates that it was carrying a munition that the invaders intended to use to fire at Ukrainian defenders.
On March 7, it was reported that soldiers of the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Strike Drones Company destroyed the TOS-1А heavy flamethrower system in the Avdiyivka sector.
The attack was carried out using an FPV drone with a thermal imaging camera, which allowed for effective surveillance and detonation.
No detonation occurred after the hit, as the vehicle was moving without ammunition.
