Ukrainian national guardsmen are conducting assault actions in the direction of Novopokrovka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The Azov National Guard Brigade participates in the battles for positions near this settlement.
The brigade reported that during one of the battles, tanks were also engaged in the assault.
The released video also demonstrates the work of the infantry and mortar crew.
On July 18, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine continued conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions.
The General Staff also noted that in the direction of Mala Tokmachka-Novopokrovka, Ukrainian soldiers were successful and entrenched in their positions.
The village of Novopokrovka is located very close to the village of Mala Tokmachka on the right bank of the same-named river.
The Azov Brigade does not often demonstrate its engagement.
Denys Prokopenko, the brigade’s commander, recently returned to Azov. He plans to direct his efforts to combat training and equipping the unit with personnel, equipment, and weapons.
These plans should give the Azov Brigade more power, which its military will be able to direct to liberate the Zaporizhzhya region from the Russian invaders.
In February this year, a Special Operations Detachment “Azov” was expanded into a Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The formation of the first Azov Battalion started in May 2014 in Berdyansk. The Battalion was subsequently expanded into a regiment and transferred to the National Guard of Ukraine. With the outbreak of a full-scale war on February 24, 2022, Special Operations Detachment “Azov” defended Mariupol against the Russian Federation military.
