Auterion and Airlogix have established a joint German-Ukrainian venture to produce autonomous strike drones for Ukraine and NATO allies.
The companies announced this in a press release.
German company Auterion, a global leader in operating systems for autonomous drones, and Ukrainian defense technology company Airlogix announced at the Munich Security Conference the creation of a joint venture to produce AI-guided UAVs for Ukraine and allied countries.
Ukraine has already ordered thousands of German-made systems from the joint venture and confirmed its readiness for a long-term partnership with the German Ministry of Defense to supply autonomous strike drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the companies, this is one of the largest European commitments to produce drones for Ukraine to date. The systems also meet the requirements for the procurement of ammunition for the German armed forces.
Auterion Airlogix Joint Venture was established with the support of the German and Ukrainian governments as part of broader efforts to strengthen European defense industry cooperation and ensure the sustainable maintenance of Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
Production will take place in Germany, which should ensure the stability of supply chains and enable rapid ramp-up in line with operational requirements. The first deliveries are scheduled for 2026.
It should be recalled that in January 2026, during tests, Auterion demonstrated the operation of an autonomous swarm of drones. At a test site in the US, a single operator controlling a swarm of three FPV drones hit three different targets.
During the tests, a single operator simultaneously controlled three autonomous strike drones, which hit three separate targets using “strike core” warheads provided by Kraken Kinetics.
Auterion’s Skynode module and Nemyx control system allowed the operator to simply assign targets and authorize strikes, while the software autonomously performed navigation, swarm control, trajectory separation, and terminal guidance.
Nemyx enables multiple drones to act as a single coordinated unit, performing AI-controlled operations at high speed.
The demonstration was an early preview of the US Department of Defense’s Swarm Forge program, which aims to identify, test, and scale new ways of conducting combat operations using artificial intelligence capabilities.
