A strike by Ukrainian drones damaged over 2,000 square meters of production space at the Arzamas Instrument-Building Plant.

Astra reported on this, citing its sources in the region’s emergency services.

The facility specializes in manufacturing components for aviation and space industries. It is located in Arzamas, in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region.

The UAVs struck the plant at around 4 a.m. on August 11th this year.

According to Astra’s sources in the region’s emergency services, at least two fixed-wing drones crashed into the roof of Building 1, where electronic instruments were being assembled.

Another drone broke through the ceiling of Building 3, where mechanical assembly of products was taking place.

As a result, the total area of damage to the production workshops amounted to 2,200 square meters.

Arzamas Instrument-Building Plant

The Arzamas Instrument-Building Plant named after P. I. Plandin is one of the key enterprises within Russia’s defense-industrial sector. Located around 800 kilometers from Ukraine’s border, the facility specializes in producing advanced military and civilian equipment for aviation and space applications.

Today, the plant operates under the umbrella of two major Russian defense holdings – Almaz-Antey and the Tactical Missiles Corporation – highlighting its strategic role in the development and manufacturing of missile components.

Among its military products are gyroscopic instruments, control systems, onboard computers, steering drives, and integrated testing and diagnostic systems.

Notably, the plant produces critical components for Russian missiles, including K-051(M) systems for Kh-32 missiles, BDG-1M damping gyroscope units for Kh-101 missiles, BREM-3 electric steering units, and ASL-1 automatic termination systems for Kh-59 missiles.

As of now, the Arzamas Instrument-Building Plant is subject to international sanctions from the United States, Canada, Switzerland, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Ukraine.
