The Turkish company ASELSAN has conducted tests on the TOLUN guided aerial bomb, ensuring its effectiveness under conditions that included electronic warfare countermeasures.
This was reported by the press service of the company.
The tests took place at a training ground in the Karapinar region, in Konya province. The bomb was carried by an F-16 fighter jet from the Turkish Air Force.
As a result of the tests, the bomb successfully hit the target.
Recall that previously, in 2022, the TOLUN guided munition was tested with the Akinci drone of Baykar.

Then the drone carried four such munitions on hardpoints. During the tests, all targets were successfully hit from a distance of 30 kilometers at an altitude of 8,000 meters.
TOLUN is a family of precision munitions designed and manufactured by ASELSAN.
The family consists of two representatives – Tolun and Tolun-IIR.
TOLUN differs from TOLUN-IIR in that TOLUN is designed to engage stationary targets, whereas TOLUN-IIR is equipped with a homing head, enabling it to engage both stationary and moving targets.
In addition, the Tolun-IIR has the capability of two-way communication with the carrier aircraft. Due to this, it can broadcast images from the homing head to a pilot, who can select the target manually.
Turkish guided munitions can be called an analog of the American GBU-39, their weight is 139 kilograms.
Navigation is performed using inertial and satellite systems, which limit the circular error probability of the munitions to one meter.
