ARX Robotics has presented a new Hector platform – a ground robotic system that can be operated both with a crew and autonomously.
The system is designed to provide European ground forces with speed, flexibility and enhanced capabilities in performing combat and logistics tasks.
Hector is based on the “optionally manned” concept. It can be manned and delivered to the area of operations and then switched to teleoperated or controlled autonomous mode.
The platform is a mass-produced and cost effective product. It is based on the Mithra operating system.
“Thanks to the software-first architecture running on Mithra OS, we can deploy, upgrade and scale capabilities across a mixed fleet. Hector delivers the speed and range that customers have been demanding without compromising on integration or security,” said Stefan Röbel, COO of ARX Robotics.
Hector supports a wide range of missions, from reconnaissance and logistics to transportation of various modules.
The system is available in two engine versions. The internal combustion engine version provides a speed of up to 120 km/h and a range of up to 350 km. The electric version has low acoustic and thermal signatures, making it best suited for covert operations.
