Russian troops made an attempt to break through the positions of the paratroopers of the 71st Jaeger Brigade in the Vovchansk sector.

This was reported by the brigade’s press service.

The enemy, using military equipment, sent it to storm the positions of the rangers without appropriate engineering reconnaissance, as a result of which a convoy of three armored vehicles was blown up by mines and finished off by FPV drones.

The first tank to be lost was a tank that hit a mine and lost a track. The two armored personnel carriers behind it attempted to go around it, but were also hit by enemy pilots.

Additionally, Russian troops attempted to break through the positions from other directions, using most of their equipment to break through, which, as before, ended in the destruction of equipment and the chaotic retreat of Russian attack aircraft.

Despite the repulsion of the attacks, the enemy is trying to exhaust the defenders with constant small-group assaults, losing a significant amount of equipment and personnel.

Due to this tactic, Russian assaults and the equipment involved in them have deteriorated significantly since the beginning of 2022, to the point where civilian vehicles or armored vehicles modified to accommodate more personnel are used for assaults.

Currently, the Russian army is trying to put pressure on the Defense Forces units in the Kharkiv region, attempting to capture Kupiansk, Borivske, Synkivka, Dvorichna, and exert pressure across the border to the city of Vovchansk.

The enemy suffers significant losses due to organized defense in these areas, but due to its numerical superiority, it has some success in advancing.

Nevertheless, during the enemy’s last offensive, the paratroopers of the Naddniprians Brigade repelled a Russian assault.

To do this, they used special drones to drop anti-tank mines.

Even during the assault, reconnaissance drones were watching the Russians and adjusting their artillery.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the soldiers of the 71st separate ranger airborne assault brigade had captured Russian soldiers during the enemy’s assault on the Vovchansk sector. 

The soldiers managed to capture six Russians who tried to land near the positions of the defense forces and capture them on MT-LB.

Despite this attempt, one of the soldiers of the 71st Brigade shot down an enemy armored personnel carrier with a grenade launcher, and the troops inside began to rush to storm the building where the ranger units were located.
