The Armed Forces of Ukraine restrain the offensive actions of the Russian invaders in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning summary.

The Russian invaders are still trying to improve their tactical position in Donbas and to advance on certain areas of the front.

The General Staff reported that during the past day in the Bakhmut direction, the enemy intensified reconnaissance of the front edge of our defense, opening fire from artillery and tanks near Toretsk, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Kurdiumivka, Vasylivka, Zaytseve, and Zalizne. The Russians launched airstrikes in the area of Soledar.

The Russian invasion forces went on the offensive in the direction of Soledar and Kodema, had no success, and withdrew.

In the Avdiivka direction, shelling was recorded near Sribne, Krasnohorivka, Opytne, Pervomaiske, Novobakhmutivka, and Marinka, and an airstrike was launched near Krasnohorivka.

In addition, in order to improve the tactical position, the invaders made advances on Pisky and Pervomaiske, but failed, and retreated.

As previously reported, yesterday, an explosion occurred at the Russian invaders’ base in the occupied settlement of Popasna in the Luhansk Region.

Russian media reported an attack on one of the locations of mercenaries from the so-called Wagner PMC (Liga – ed.).

The Russians claim a hit, probably a GMLRS missile from the M142 HIMARS rocket system.

Photos featuring bodies in military uniforms being taken out of a destroyed building in Popasna were released on social media.

It is worth noting that Russian mercenaries set up their base in a high-rise building, probably abandoned because of hostilities.
