The Ukrainian military hit a group of Russian invaders near Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

High explosive and cluster artillery shells, as well as FPV drones were used to destroy the invaders.

The video of the engagement was published by the 71st Jaeger Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.

Judging by the footage, the movement of the Russian military was recorded by a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone.

An infantry group of the invaders moved along the field road along the forest settlement not far from the village of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. Among the invaders were already wounded, whom they tried to evacuate.

After that, the artillery of the 71st Jaeger Brigade struck the Russians with cluster and high-explosive projectiles.

Some of the invaders abandoned their wounded comrades-in-arms and tried to escape.

However, after an artillery strike, the Ukrainian military used FPV kamikaze drones, which hit a group of enemy soldiers, leading to the death and injury of some of them.

Those Russian soldiers, who remained alive and tried to raise further movement, were again hit by Ukrainian artillery. As a result, the Russians again suffered losses in manpower.

According to the morning summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday October 9, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, and have partial success in the areas west of Verbove. Also, in the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian military repelled the Russian attack in the area north of Novoprokopivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

As previously reported, last month the commander of the operational and strategic group of troops “Tavria,” Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, said that the Ukrainian army broke through the defense of the Russian invasion forces in the area of the village of Verbove.

A few days earlier, OSINT analysts reported that Ukrainian mechanized units crossed the Russian line of defense in the area of this settlement. They came to such a conclusion, based on photos and videos from the front line published by Russians on the network.
