The Ukrainian military destroyed the Russian Osa anti-aircraft missile system in the southern direction.

The Command of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published a video of the destruction of the enemy air defense system.

The Russian air defense system was hit with a high-precision strike with HIMARS.

The SOF reported that during reconnaissance in the south direction, the drone crew of the 73rd Naval Special Purpose Center discovered the Osa anti-aircraft missile system despite poor visibility.

The enemy SAM was located near the village of Radensk in the Oleshky community on the left bank of the Kherson region.

The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces operators adjusted the HIMARS fire of one of the missile and artillery units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Footage of the video captured a precision missile hitting the Russian Osa SAM, which was on a dirt road among the trees.

The SOF reported that the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed as a result of this attack.

In December, the Ukrainian military hit the long-range Russian Pion 203mm self-propelled gun and the Osa-AKM air defense system on the left bank of the Kherson region.

Osa SAM

Osa-AKM is an automated anti-aircraft missile system. It is all-weather and designed to cover forces and troops in all types of hostilities.

The air defense system is equipped with six 9М33М3 anti-aircraft guided missiles. The firing range is 1.5-10 km at an altitude between 10 and 5000 m.

The combat and transport and load vehicles are based on a BAZ-5937 three-axis chassis equipped with water-jet propulsion for afloat movement, with a powerful diesel engine, navigation, life support systems, communication, and power supply of the system.
