The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has resumed the supply of select weapon systems to Ukraine, according to a report by the Associated Press.
Citing two U.S. officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, the report states that the renewed assistance includes precision-guided GMLRS rockets for HIMARS systems, as well as 155mm artillery shells.
The exact timing of the resumed deliveries remains unclear, the report adds.
This development follows earlier reports from July 1, when U.S. media outlets indicated that some shipments had been temporarily paused due to concerns over the strain on American military stockpiles.
A few days later, 17 members of Congress and the Senate jointly appealed to the head of the Pentagon, demanding the full resumption of arms deliveries to Ukraine.
On Monday, July 7, the Pentagon announced that, on President Trump’s orders, additional defensive weapons would be provided to Ukraine.
The President of the United States confirmed that his administration is considering the possibility of providing Ukraine with an additional Patriot air defense system.
