The event occurred during the night of Wednesday, August 3. The reports from locals on social media first appeared after 3 a.m.
The Russian invaders have already accused the Ukrainian servicemen of shelling the oil depot. The fire was active up until the morning.
As of 11 a.m., the fire at the Makiivka oil depot has been extinguished.
Reports claim that four fuel tanks were destroyed as a result of the fire. There are no reports of casualties or injuries.
This is not the first case of a fire at this facility in temporarily occupied Makiivka, Donetsk region.
On the morning of May 4, an explosion at an oil depot occurred there. After the explosion, a fire broke out.
Published photos and videos featured the oil depot burning and thick black smoke rising into the sky.
Russian propagandists, citing the invaders, reported that four 5,000-tonne oil tanks were on fire after the Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled Makiyivka.
This depot was storing the fuel for the supply to Russian invaders, who are currently attempting to completely occupy the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
