The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirmed the explosion.
They note that the security officer of the Embassy received minor injuries, and there is no threat to his life.
“An envelope has arrived at the Embassy of Ukraine in Spain. During the inspection, the envelope exploded in the commandantʼs hands. He received minor injuries and is now hospitalized and being provided with the necessary medical assistance. There are no threats to his life,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
The police are investigating the incident.
Spanish media reports that the area around the Embassy is surrounded, and investigations are ongoing.
