On the night of Saturday, August 24, an ammunition depot exploded in the Voronezh oblast after the strikes.
The governor of the Voronezh oblast, Alexander Gusev, said that a state of emergency had been introduced in three settlements in the Ostrogozhsky district to eliminate the consequences of the fire and the detonation of explosive objects.
“The detonation is still ongoing. I ask the residents of the district to observe safety measures,” said the local governor.
The detonation of explosive devices is taking place at a location near the village of Nova Melnytsia, according to analysts of the CyberBoroshno group.
According to the governor, the region was attacked by at least five attack drones, which were allegedly shot down.
The ASTRA Telegram group posted a video of local residents who recorded the fire and the detonation of ammunition.
“There is a training center for junior specialists of the Russian Ministry of Defense’s armored personnel in Ostrohozk,” ASTRA said.
Also, Ukrainian analysts from the CyberBoroshno Telegram group released a video from the Voronezh oblast, which shows the sound of a jet engine.
The analysts suggested that Russian military targets had been attacked using a Ukrainian Neptune cruise missile.
Back in 2023, it became known that the Ukrainian defense industry was working on a long-range version of the Neptune cruise missile.
“Work is underway to create the so-called “long” Neptune. It is a new modification of the missile,” said the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Initially, the RK-360MC Neptune system was designed to engage enemy warships. The modified Ukrainian cruise missile is designed to hit ground targets.
