A Ukrainian strike destroyed an aviation ammunition depot at the Russian Morozovsk military air base.
This is evidenced by satellite images posted on the @AS_22im Twitter (X) account.
The low-quality images and clouds over part of the airfield do not yet allow us to determine whether Russian warplanes were destroyed or damaged.
The photos show that the aviation ammunition depot was completely destroyed due to prolonged detonation as a result of successful combat operations by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The attack on the Russian Morozovsk military air base in the Rostov region was performed on the night of August 3.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the strike was executed by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine in cooperation with the Armed Forces.
There were hits to ammunition depots where aircraft bombs were stored, among other things.
Information on the damage to air defense and aviation equipment of the Russian invaders is currently being clarified.
Vasily Golubev, governor of the Rostov region, said that 55 Ukrainian drones allegedly attacked the region at night.
After the hits on the territory of the air base, local residents observed a powerful detonation at the ammunition depot, which continued during the day.
This is not the first Ukrainian attack on the Russian Morozovsk air base. Earlier strikes were performed in June and April of this year, and before that, in December 2023.
As a reminder, there is a military airfield near the city of Morozovsk, where Su-34 frontline bombers are based, dropping guided bombs with UMPK kit and launching cruise missiles at civilian targets in Ukraine.
