M142 HIMARS rocket systems are already working at the frontline. They were supplied by the United States as a part of the security assistance package to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

M142 HIMARS are already helping Ukraine’s defense attacking the Russian enemy forces that invaded our country on February 24, starting a full-scale war.

“Artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine skillfully hit determined targets – enemy military objects on our own Ukrainian territory.

Our goal is Victory,” the Ukrainian servicemen stressed in a statement.

As previously reported, on June 23, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov announced that American HIMARS systems have arrived in Ukraine.

On June 1, the United States approved a new package of military assistance to Ukraine, which included HIMARS and its ammunition. Ukraine will be receiving these weapons as part of the $700 million aid package.

The Pentagon later stated that providing Ukraine with several systems is just a starting point.

It was further reported that the United States might double the number of HIMARS systems shipped over to Ukraine. This would mean the supply of 4 more weapons systems.

Recently, the United States announced another $450 million drawdown for Ukraine to meet the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ critical needs in the face of the full-scale Russian invasion.

The package includes four additional HIMARS systems and 105-mm artillery ammunition.

M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) uses a 6-wheel chassis of an M1140 FMTV tactical truck. The system can be used as a rocket launcher with ammunition of different ranges, and as a tactical missile system.
