The US Army tested attack drones on a model of the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled artillery system.

Photos from the test were published on the DVIDS portal.

The event took place at the Yuma (YPG) training ground as part of the Launched Effects Short-Range (LE-SR) program.

Its goal is to provide infantry units with drones that can be launched from various transportation platforms, controlled by a single soldier, and operate in intense combat environments.

The drones being tested as part of LE-SR are capable of operating semi-autonomously in a “wolf pack” format, breaking through enemy defenses and adapting to changing situations in real time.

On March 27, 2025, the US Army announced the start of the demonstration phase of the program.

Three companies were selected to participate: AEVEX Aerospace with the Atlas Group II system, Anduril Industries with the Altius 600 Multi-Mission drone, and Raytheon with the Coyote Block 3.

The released footage shows two of these vehicles – Altius 600 and Atlas Group II.

It is reported that Altius 600 has already been used in Ukraine against real targets on the battlefield.

Judging by the footage, it was the Anduril Industries product that hit the 2C19 Msta-S model.

The US Army has long been using models of Russian weapons. They are used for both identification and strike training.
