The Special Group Alpha is helping Ukrainian forces to liberate the Kharkiv region.

Soldiers of the Alpha Group of the Ukrainian Secret Services located and destroyed armored vehicles of the Russian military.

The Alpha Group destroyed the accumulation of equipment with a 120-mm mortar.

The SSU reported that three Russian infantry fighting vehicles were hit.

“Three more burned infantry fighting vehicles in the Kharkiv direction are the work of soldiers of Special Group “Alpha” of the SSU,” the report said.

The footage features a cluster of Russian armored vehicles that were destroyed in the area of the settlement of Yahidne, which is not far from the village of Kyslivka, which was liberated in October.

On October 14, the Ukrainian Kraken special forces unit announced the liberation of villages in the Kharkiv region, including Kyslivka.

Apparently, the Alpha Group of the SSU is also actively involved in the liberation of settlements in this area.

The Alpha Group is a special unit of the Security Service of Ukraine, an anti-terrorist center.

The history of the Alpha Group began on June 23, 1994, when it was established by Presidential Decree. The Group became part of the Central Office of the Security Service of Ukraine with its units in the regions.

The main tasks of the Special Group “Alpha” are:

• cessation of terrorist acts;
• countering illegal armed formations, terrorist organizations, intelligence and sabotage groups of foreign countries;
• ensuring that SSU employees carry out operational investigative, counter-intelligence activities, and procedural actions;
• participation in the protection of state authorities and officials, as well as ensuring the safety of SSU employees, bodies of the State Security Administration of Ukraine and their close relatives;
• assistance within the competence of the SSU to ensure the regime of martial law and state of emergency in the event of their declaration.

In July 1996, the Department was reorganized into the Department of Combating Terrorism, Protection of Participants in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine. Since December 27, 2005, it has been operating as the Special Group for the fight against terrorism, for protection of participants in criminal proceedings and law enforcement officers.
