Soldiers of the 24th Separate Assault Battalion “Aidar” captured Russian invaders in the Donetsk region.
The Ukrainian battalion’s press service published the video.
The four invaders were captured recently near Chasiv Yar when Ukrainian defenders entered enemy positions during daylight hours.
The invader group was in a dugout and did not seem to expect the Ukrainian military to approach them so unexpectedly.
The actions of the Aidar Battalion were observed by a drone, whose camera captured the moment the Russians surrendered.
The four invaders came out of the dugout one by one, were disarmed and transferred to another location on the territory controlled by Ukraine.
“Replenishment of the exchange fund. Aidar Battalion soldiers have recently captured several fighters from the Russian Armed Forces. Unlike the Russians, we take POWs and keep them alive,” the video description reads.
Subsequently, two captured Russians told the camera who they were and where they were from. They said that they were soldiers of the 1st Battalion of the 102nd Regiment of the 150th Motor Rifle Division of the Russian Army.
Previously, soldiers of the fourth assault battalion of the 92nd Ivan Sirko Assault Brigade cleared and took over the positions of the Russian invaders.
The invaders were driven out south of Ivanivske in the Bakhmut sector.
In this way, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have regained their position in this area of the front line.
Fierce battles between Ukrainian defenders and Russian invaders for control of settlements are currently underway in Donbas.
