The Ukrainian defense forces managed to destroy the Russian self-propelled launcher of the Buk anti-aircraft system in Zaporizhzhia.

A Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance unit spotted the disguised position of the Buk launcher of an unknown modification using the EOS UAV.

After reconnaissance, the gunners successfully struck the TELAR with GMLRS guided rockets from the HIMARS MRL.

The ammunition from the installation detonated after the hit. That can be seen due to the typical explosion and fire of rocket fuel anti-aircraft missiles. Although the hull of the vehicle visually preserved its shape, it can be considered completely destroyed.

The exact location of the TELAR of the Russian anti-aircraft system managed to be (here) 17 kilometers south of Enerhodar, near the village of Zavitne, Zaporizhzhia region.

Since June 2023, only in this direction, four vehicles (1, 2, 3-4) of the Buk air defense system of various types have been destroyed; the current one should become the fifth. One more Tor-M2 SAM was possibly destroyed in the same direction.

Today’s target was detected and hit with the help of the EOS C VTOL unmanned reconnaissance drone. Currently, there are five such UASs, for which Ukrainian volunteers collect money to buy them for the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

EOS C VTOL is an Estonian company, Threod Systems, that developed a reconnaissance drone with a fixed wing as well as a vertical take-off and landing system.

The maximum range of its flight is 120 kilometers, but the operational radius is limited to 50 kilometers due to the communication range.

EOS C VTOL is equipped with a powerful optical sensor, due to which it can perform reconnaissance within a radius of 50 km. The drone camera can record enemy equipment in detail at a distance of up to 15 kilometers under good weather conditions.

In the summer, Lithuania acquired six drones of this type for Ukraine, paying almost €1 million for them.
