Late in the evening of July 12, local residents started reporting a series of explosions in Luhansk.
According to locals, explosions were actively heard for about two hours. Eyewitnesses shared that sounds similar to ammunition detonation were heard in the city’s Industrial District.
Amid reports of explosions in Russia-occupied Luhansk, the so-called “LPR” authorities stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the military air defense detachment.
According to the propaganda media, this military detachment of the Russian occupation forces was protecting the sky over Luhansk.
Subsequently, the occupation administration of the so-called “LPR” stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched nine missiles with the American-made HIMARS missile system at Luhansk.
Currently, there is no official information from the Ukrainian military regarding the events in Luhansk. The city is located approximately 80 kilometers away from the frontline.
Recently, the occupation forces in temporarily Russia-occupied Luhansk lost another ammunition depot.
On the night of July 11, reports appeared that several explosions had thundered in occupied Luhansk, after which fire and the ammunition detonation started.
Immediately after the release of information about the explosions, local residents started to report on social media that the Ukrainian military struck the Russian army’s ammunition depots in the temporarily occupied city.
The local community pages posted videos featuring events similar to launches of anti-aircraft missiles against air targets.
