On the morning of May 21, a series of explosions blasted out in temporarily occupied Berdiansk.
The local Telegram channels reported this.
“At 4:00 a.m., the city woke up to a series of explosions. The Russian air defense also worked, but as we can see in the photo, it was unsuccessful,” the report said.
It is emphasized that fire and thick smoke were spotted in the area of the captured airfield.
Previously, on May 19, powerful explosions were heard in the suburbs of occupied Mariupol and near the airport.
Russian sources reported the alleged strike from four unidentified missiles.
A few hours prior, Petro Andriushchenko, adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol, reported that Russia was moving helicopters from Berdyansk to Mariupol.
The Russian aircraft were presumably moved to the area of the airport where the strike was carried out.
Previously, the invasion forces started evacuating the local residents from the north of the occupied part of the Zaporozhzhia region. Experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency, stationed at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Enerhodar, reported on this.
