In Russia, a gas tanker has caught fire at the Dyagilevo air base in the Ryazan region, and then exploded.

Russian propaganda state media report about this, and a video featuring the alleged fire has also appeared on social networks.

According to the media, the explosion occurred at the aircraft parking lot.

Three dead and five injured, two of whom are in serious condition, are reported.

On social networks, eyewitnesses published videos of an alleged fire at a Russian airfield.

Official information about the causes of the explosion is not available at the moment.

Firefighters and rescuers are working at the scene of the incident, and eyewitnesses report that the explosion was so powerful that it was heard in the nearby settlements.

Dyagilevo air base is located near the city of Ryazan. The Russian 43rd Guards Center of Combat Application and Air Crew Training, equipped with Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, Tu-134UBL, An-26 aircraft, as well as the 203rd Guards Air Refueling Regiment, which is armed with refueling aircraft, is located at the airbase IL-78.

Today, Russia reported that an unknown drone had attacked an airfield in the Saratov region.

This regards the airfield in Engels, where strategic bombers which launch missile strikes on Ukraine, are based. The video featuring the alleged explosion is published on various Russian Telegram channels.

It is reported that as a result of the incident, two aircraft were damaged, although it is not specified which ones.

As previously reported, on December 2, in Russia, a MiG-31 fighter of the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed immediately after takeoff. The MiG-31 interceptor crashed in the Primorsky Krai. It fell in a forest massif near the settlement of Alekseevka.
