A fire broke out in a Russian military unit in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon, September 9, in Simferopol.
Local media and Telegram channels published a video of the fire.
Eyewitnesses reported on social media that explosions were heard in the city shortly before the fire started.
There are reports that the fire occurred at a Russian military unit on Kalinin Street.
The published video captured a thick black column of smoke rising into the sky from the territory of the Russian invaders’ military facility and the sounds of a powerful fire. It is likely that a building was on fire.
Despite the reports of local residents about explosions preceding the fire, the Russian occupation authorities claim that it was a common household fire.
Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of the occupation authorities of Crimea, said that a common household fire had allegedly started in the military unit.
It has been reported that the fire was localized. Two fire trucks were involved in the firefighting activities. No casualties were reported as a result of the fire.
Previously, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine disclosed details of a drone strike on the 126th Coastal Defence Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the village of Perevalne in occupied Crimea.
Several UAVs were used in the attack. They targeted the location of the enemy unit in occupied Crimea.
The SOF noted that as a result of the strikes, the enemy suffered losses in killed and wounded personnel.
