Aerial reconnaissance of a Ukrainian artillery brigade discovered the Russian Zhitel EW system in the forest in the temporarily occupied territory in the east of Ukraine.

According to the video, the Ukrainian military used a drone that dropped two rounds of ammunition on the enemy’s equipment to destroy the R-330Zh.

A KAMAZ truck, which is part of the Zhitel EW system, was hit.

The footage shows that after the ammunition hit, explosions took place, followed by the vehicle catching fire.

A container on wheels with equipment that is also part of the Russian EW system was spotted next to the truck. The enemy equipment was hit near Pshenychne in the Luhansk region.

The Zhitel EW system

The Russian R-330Zh Zhitel EW system is designed for automated detection, direction finding, and analysis of radio signals in the operating frequency range.

It is stated that the R-330Zh provides the setting of radio interference of terminals of Inmarsat and Iridium satellite communication systems. It also interferes with the equipment of NAVSTAR (GPS) satellite navigation system users and base stations and terminals of cellular radio communication systems of GSM-900/1800 and 1900 standard.

Ukrainian Defense Forces previously destroyed another Russian R-330Zh Zhitel EW system in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Russian system was hit by a GMLRS missile from the M142 HIMARS rocket system, which was aimed at the target by the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
