The soldiers of the 79th Separate Tavrian Air Assault Brigade repulsed a massive Russian attack in the Kurakhove sector of the Donetsk region.
The brigade’s press service posted a video of the destruction of the Russian invaders on its Telegram channel.
A total of 30 units of armored vehicles were involved in the assault, including 5 tanks and 25 armored vehicles with troops.
“Our soldiers, repelling the attack, burned 7 armored vehicles with infantry and 1 tank. One more tank was hit,” the Brigade said.
It is reported that during the battle 33 invaders were killed and the same number were wounded. Some were simply burned out by the righteous airborne fire. The same number of Russians were wounded.
Enemy convoys were spotted early by aerial reconnaissance and hit with artillery fire and kamikaze drones before they reached the outskirts. Some of their equipment was destroyed on pre-mined routes.
The Russians are constantly conducting mechanized assaults on the positions of the Ukrainian 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
On October 4, 2024, the paratroopers repelled an assault involving 10 armored vehicles.
And on October 1, 2024, 19 units of military equipment, including tanks, were used to break through the Ukrainian defense near the village of Kostiantynivka in the Kurakhove sector.
Then the invaders sent 11 armored combat vehicles with infantry, supported by eight tanks, to assault. However, the column was detected and targeted in advance. During the battle, 4 tanks and 2 armored vehicles with the invaders were destroyed.
The largest assault in recent times was the one that took place on September 22. Then, the invaders engaged 44 units of military equipment for a massive assault on the positions of the Ukrainian 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
Of these, 35 armored combat vehicles with troops supported by 9 tanks, of which 5 armored vehicles were destroyed.
