The soldiers of the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated the village of Nadiia in the Luhansk region, located near the border with the Kharkiv region.
The press service of the 3rd Assault Brigade reported this.
It is stated that the settlement was liberated by the brigade, primarily by the 1st Assault Battalion. The total area of territory freed from the enemy is three square kilometers.
“The capture of the village of Nadiia cost the enemy two months of effort and two mechanized regiments—752nd and 254th of the 20th Russian Army—completely wiped out,” Andrii Biletsky, Commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade, shared.

According to Deepstate, at the end of February, the Russians, through constant assaults, were able to capture the village of Nadiia, but they were unable to develop further success.
According to the video published by the brigade, the settlement was liberated thanks to a mechanized assault, which was preceded by intense artillery preparation, including the involvement of MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket Systems).
Several tanks, BMP-2s, and various types of Western armored vehicles were involved in the assault. This included M113 armored personnel carriers and M577 command post carriers reconfigured for infantry transport.
It is also worth noting that almost all the armored vehicles that appeared in the video were equipped with their own electronic warfare (EW) systems. However, one can also spot an armored vehicle with much larger EW antennas, which was likely providing group protection for the assault group against drones.
Russian troops have been deploying any available equipment for continuous assaults, including repurposed vehicles. In late February, they used an infantry fighting vehicle with its turret removed to attack positions of Ukraine’s 3rd Separate Assault Brigade near Novoyehorivka, close to Nadiia.
The vehicle was likely damaged in previous combat, and its unit lacked the capability to restore it quickly. As a result, the turret was hastily removed, converting it into an improvised armored personnel carrier.
During that assault, Russian forces deployed three armored vehicles—a tank, an MT-LB, and the modified infantry fighting vehicle. Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance quickly detected them approaching the settlement.
To halt the attack, soldiers from the brigade’s 1st Assault Battalion launched a coordinated strike. Targeting was adjusted in real time by the Primus strike UAV unit and the battalion’s reconnaissance platoon.
