15 Viktor anti-aircraft guns, purchased with funds raised by volunteers, are leaving the Czech Republic for Ukraine.
The donors contributed the money for them within the “Gift to Putin” project.
Czech volunteers raised 90 million Czech korunas through this initiative.
On Thursday, March 30, they reported that Viktor mobile anti-aircraft guns are already being shipped to Ukraine.
“It’s time to say goodbye. 15 MR-2 Viktor anti-aircraft guns, for which we raised 90 million from you, are sent to the front. Let the Ukrainian military shoot precisely, take care of yourself,” the volunteers wrote.
They also published a photo featuring these anti-aircraft guns.
At the beginning of March, the production of 15 Viktor anti-aircraft guns for the air defense of Ukraine was announced to have been completed in the Czech Republic.
It is stated that these systems are able to effectively protect strategic and civilian objects from kamikaze drone attacks. Viktor anti-aircraft guns are assembled at the factory of the Czech Excalibur Army.
The Viktor mobile anti-aircraft gun is mounted on the chassis of a Toyota Land Cruiser pickup truck with a crew cab at the front and a twin 14.5 mm anti-aircraft machine gun mounted in the cargo compartment at the rear. The use of such a chassis provides a high level of mobility on roads and in off-road conditions.
With this system, the Excalibur Army offers a low-cost anti-aircraft gun that can be used to destroy aerial threats such as drones.
The anti-aircraft gun has both day and night visions and a sight for direct fire at ground targets. The effective firing range is claimed at a distance of up to 2 km. The module’s ammunition includes 300 loaded and 300 additional rounds.
As previously reported, the Netherlands agreed to pay for the production of mobile anti-aircraft systems for the air defense of Ukraine. These weapons will be produced in the Czech Republic.
