Quantum Systems has been tasked with supplying 15,000 Ukrainian STRILA interceptor drones to the National Guard of Ukraine.

The company noted that this became possible following investments in the Ukrainian unmanned systems manufacturer WIY Drones, which produces the STRILA drones.

The contract was signed in the presence of Germany’s Chargé d’Affaires Maximilian Rasch, representatives of the National Guard, and Quantum Systems.

Production of STRILA interceptor drones is being scaled up through the joint efforts of both companies.

In the initial phase, production of the STRILA system will be expanded in Ukraine to meet urgent operational needs, with the possibility of subsequently exporting surplus products.

“Ukrainian engineers have developed some of the world’s most effective anti-drone technologies. Quantum Systems is bringing these solutions to an industrial scale and helping Ukraine secure its airspace,” said Sven Kruk, Co-CEO of Quantum Systems.

The German Embassy in Ukraine reported that the funding is being provided with the support of the German government.

“The multi-million-dollar agreement also includes training, logistical support, and further joint development of UAVs,” the embassy noted.

The STRILA interceptor drone was specifically designed to engage fast and maneuverable aerial targets, as well as to counter Shahed-type attack drones, high-speed reconnaissance aircraft, and other UAVs.

It reaches speeds exceeding 350 km/h, allowing it to intercept targets out of reach for typical FPV drones or slower interceptors.

Its operational altitude range is up to 4 km, its tactical interception radius exceeds 10 km, and its warhead, weighing up to 800 g, allows it to engage most standard enemy reconnaissance and attack drones.

The drone can return to its launch position if the attack is called off, which increases the system’s operational efficiency and extends its service life.
