Ukraine managed to return home 116 people.
Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced this on Telegram, publishing photos of the released Ukrainians.
According to Yermak, among those released are the defenders of Mariupol, Kherson resistance movement members, snipers from the Bakhmut direction and other Ukrainian heroes.
“87 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two of whom are SOF operators. Eight TDF soldiers, seven from the National Guard, six from the National Police, five from the SBGS, two from the Navy and one representative of the State Emergency Service,” the report said.
It is noted that two officers and 114 privates and sergeants are among them.
In addition, according to the Head of the Office of the President, Ukraine managed to return the bodies of the killed foreign volunteers Christopher Matthew Perry and Andrew Tobias Matthew.
The body of another deceased volunteer soldier, a Ukrainian Yevhen Kulyk, who served in the French Foreign Legion and after the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion went to defend Ukraine, was also returned.
It should be recalled that on December 31, 2021, as part of the next exchange of prisoners of war, 140 Ukrainians were released.
Among them were 132 men and eight women, 22 officers and 118 sergeants and privates.
