Satellite images of Russia’s Millerovo military air base show a fuel and lubricant supply base and a technical hangar for aircraft that were hit by drones.

The satellite images were published by the Ukrainian Service of the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

On the night of July 20, Ukrainian attack drones targeted a military air base in the Rostov region where Russian fighter aircraft are based.

Local residents counted about 16 explosions that caused a large-scale fire. However, only now has there been an opportunity to analyze the damage caused, due to the images published on June 11 and July 21.

The first photo shows the airfield’s maintenance area with hangars for aircraft maintenance. The strike destroyed one of them.

A Su-30 fighter aircraft located next to the hangar was moved to another location after the strike. Judging by the condition of the parking lot, the fighter aircraft was not directly hit and did not sustain critical damage.

The attack drones also hit a fuel and lubricant depot at the military air base, causing it to partially burn down. A large-scale fire at this particular facility was captured on video by local residents.

Satellite imagery shows a dozen damaged tanks with flammable substances.

The Millerovo military air base is the permanent base of the Russian 31st Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment, which is part of the 1st Guards Composite Aviation Division of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The air regiment stationed in the Rostov region is armed with Su-30SM fighters.

As previously reported, on July 18, the Russian resistance movement of the Freedom of Russia Legion committed sabotage by setting fire to automobile equipment at the Bolshoye Savino military airport.

It is reported that MiG-31 fighter jets from the Sokol aviation group of the 6980th Aviation Base of the Russian Aerospace Forces are based at this airport.
