The State Duma Committee on Defense of the Russian Federation opposed the adoption of a draft law on the permanent deferment of mobilization for parents of three children.
This was reported by Russian media.
The corresponding recommendation document on the new bill was published on the official website of the state Duma.
The document states that the bill should be finalized, since it jeopardizes the manning of the army with a sufficient number of people.
Currently, parents who raise four or more children under the age of 16 can receive a reprieve from the call.
The new bill aimed at granting a reprieve to men with more than three children under the age of 18.
The committee also noted that they well understand the desire to protect as many men as possible from mobilization, but this option is not susceptible to the Armed Forces.
A State Duma deputy Nina Ostanina, who is one of the authors of the bill, for her part, made her comment on this:
“I am not talking about full mobilization: it is clear here that all citizens, as they say, are under the gun. But with partial mobilization, a reprieve is possible for parents with three children. The presidential decree has a definition that a large family is not with four, but with three children. Unfortunately, this did not come to the defense committee,” she said.
Earlier, Militarnyi reported that in Russia from November 1, 2024 the sending of electronic summons to citizens of the Russian Federation will start.
Electronic summons will be sent because the Unified Register of Military Records has been launched.
