The Ukrainian military showed seven captured Russian soldiers who stormed the positions of the Defense Forces in the Kharkiv region.

“The first prisoners from the Kharkiv sector. The command sends its personnel to minefields as cannon fodder, without the necessary ammunition and weapons,” the military said.

In the 42nd Mechanized Brigade, they said that during the offensive of the invaders towards Kharkiv, 4 infantry fighting vehicles had been destroyed near the village of Pilna.

“The drones of the Perun unit of the 42nd Brigade were engaged. 4 IFVs were destroyed along with the personnel,” the military said.

Now the fighting continues in Strilecha, Pilna, Borysivka, in the area of Oliynyky and Ohirtseve in the north of the Kharkiv region.

According to Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA of the Kharkiv region, three settlements are currently located in the gray zone: Pilna, Strilecha and Borysivka.

“Fighting continues on their territory and on the territory of four more settlements,” Syniehubov said.

Also, Oleh Syniehubov said that Russians had tried to advance in other directions in the Kharkiv region.

“There was shelling, there were attempts to infiltrate sabotage and reconnaissance groups but all of them were stopped. We do not record activity in these areas now,” said Syniehubov.

“In order to break through the border and go to the north of the Kharkiv region, the Russian troops used various tactics,” says the Head of the RMA.

“There were cases of one of the settlements – 20 people came in, 30 people in the other, another used armored vehicles. For example, the enemy attracted tanks to the Vovchansk direction, tried to enter our territory. They were partially destroyed, partially withdrawn. A little to the left, closer to Liptsy, the enemy entered with infantry, tried to advance. This is not to say that these are sabotage and intelligence groups, these are small groups, with which the enemy tries to find our positions, our territories. In fact, the enemy makes the reconnaissance by combat,” says Syniehubov.

Despite the attempt of the offensive, the Russian Federation continues to work on the construction of fortifications.

“All fortifications that we built in 2022-2023, even now, in 2024, are used by our military for its intended purpose. We are not stopping at the implementation of this project,” Syniehubov said.

“The buildup of the Russian forces near the borders is expected,” says the head of the regional administration.

“They have already built up these forces. They are already there. Next, we simply have to adequately counteract in one direction or another. The figure was about 35 thousand troops plus equipment, so there is nothing unusual for us,” Syniehubov said.
