On the night of April 24, drones hit a metallurgical plant in Lipetsk, Russia.

The Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, which is one of the largest in Russia, was hit by two drones.

It is reported that the night attack partially destroyed the building of the oxygen station, which provides the production with the necessary amount of compressed air required for technological processes.

It is currently stated that the damage caused by the UAV attack led to the shutdown of two oxygen units at the Russian metallurgical plant.

At the same time, early on Wednesday morning, Lipetsk Region Governor Igor Artamonov announced the “downing” of drones in the industrial zone of Lipetsk.

According to him, the drones allegedly “tried to strike” at the infrastructure in the industrial zone. The Russian region’s governor traditionally blamed Ukraine for the attack.

The official also urged local residents not to film the aftermath of the drone strike.

UAVs already attacked the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant in February this year. The Lipetsk region’s governor reported a fire “in one of the shops” of the plant.

At night, residents of the region reported hearing explosions near Lipetsk, from the direction of a metallurgical plant, preceded by the hum of a drone in the sky. After that, a fire broke out on the territory of the coke chemical workshop.

The Novolypetsk Metallurgical Plant (NLMK) in Lipetsk, Russia, is one of the largest ferrous metallurgy enterprises. The plant is a supplier of steel, alloys, and rolled products to the Russian defense industry.
