Ukrainian troops in the village of Ivanivske, Donetsk region, destroyed a Russian armored group that was trying to advance.

The Ukrainian military spoke about the battle in the Gostri kartuzy Telegram channel.

Fierce fighting continues in the Bakhmut sector for control of Ivanivske, parts of which are controlled by Ukrainian and Russian Forces.

Recently, the Russian command sent six armored vehicles with infantry into battle on a street to advance.

The armored group consisted of BMD-2 and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, which were supposed to suppress Ukrainian infantry with their 30 mm guns.

During the battle, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed four Russian armored vehicles, and two managed to retreat.

“Ivanivske is the outskirts of Bakhmut, which is being held by Ukrainian defenders in hell. The video shows an attempted enemy assault, six vehicles entered and two left,” the military told about the battle.

The commander of the Attack Drone Battalion “Achilles” of the 92nd Assault Brigade said that the Russian troops were always storming in the direction of Ivanivske.

“As for Ivanivske, Russian invaders are trying to align the front line in the direction of Chasovyi Yar. Indeed, a month ago, the enemy had a tactical success and occupied the front streets of Ivanivske. However, today it is too early to talk about the enemy’s complete control of Ivanivske,” said the military.

At the moment, according to deepstatemap, about 40% of Ivanivske is occupied by the enemy, while the rest remains with the Ukrainian military.

“Difficult and exhausting fighting continues in the direction of Ivanivske. Half of Ivanivske is now under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the other part of the settlement is occupied by Russian invaders. Invaders are also conducting assault operations in the direction of Klishchiivka and Andriivka. However, they are not having any critical success either,” said Commander Yurii Fedorenko.

On April 1, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian troops repelled eight attacks in the Bakhmut sector over the past 24 hours near populated areas: Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhnekamianske, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Donetsk region.
