Defense Forces hit the Russian 2S40 Flox self-propelled gun in the Donetsk region.
The Ukrainian FPV drone hit the 120 mm wheeled self-propelled gun.
The drone with thermal imaging optics was operated by the operator of the Reconnaissance and Assault Unit “Signum” from the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade “Kholodnyi Yar”.
Volunteer and blogger Serhii Sternenko showed a video of the combat work.
According to the footage, a Russian self-propelled gun was deployed on the battlefield.
Presumably, Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance detected a Russian Flox self-propelled gun, so it was decided to hit it with an FPV drone. The gun was located near Bakhmut.
The Russian army received the first batch of 120 mm 2S40 self-propelled guns in October last year.
A few days later, a Ukrainian FPV drone hit one of the wheeled self-propelled guns in the stern while driving on the road.
2S40 Flox is a Russian self-propelled wheeled artillery system with a 120mm mortar/howitzer, designed to suppress enemy manpower, weapons and equipment. The artillery part of the self-propelled guns is mounted on the chassis of the Ural-4320 army armored truck with a wheel arrangement of 6×6.
For shooting, the ACS uses the entire range of Soviet, Russian and Western 120mm mortar rounds, including long-range rocket-assisted shells and guided ones.
However, the range of Flox’s fire is limited to 8 kilometers with conventional mortar rounds and to 10 kilometers with long-range ammunition. Its ammunition is 60 shells.
The armored vehicle itself is also equipped with a remote machine gun mount for self-defense, which is installed above the crew cabin.
