Ukrainian troops defeated an offensive armored group of Russian forces in the Vuhledar sector near the village of Shevchenko.

The 58th Motorized Brigade reported that the military had to repel a new Russian assault in the Donetsk region for several days.

The Russian command sent marines with tanks, BMP-3, BMD-4, and MT-LB armored personnel carriers to storm Ukrainian positions.

The Ukrainian military managed to stop and defeat the Russians near the village of Shevchenko, located near the town of Vuhledar.

“Our soldiers showed their character, repelled the enemy, and fulfilled their duty with dignity and honesty,” the brigade reported.

During the battle, the Ukrainian forces suffered losses in soldiers repelling the invaders’ attack. The Ukrainian military also launched counterattacks, during which they lost a MaxxPro armored fighting vehicle.

“Eternal memory to those who gave their lives in battle but did not flinch or retreat. We continue to defend Ukraine,” the brigade added.

After the battle, Ukrainian drone operators recorded the destroyed equipment of the Russian army.

The drone footage shows that the Russians have lost at least three T-80BV tanks, two MT-LB armored personnel carriers, and three BMP-3 IFVs.

One of the T-80BV tanks was equipped with a KMT-6 tracked mine trawler, which was supposed to pave the way for other armored vehicles through minefields.

The military noted that in total, they destroyed 3 tanks, 5 infantry fighting vehicles, 5 MT-LBs, and companies of Russian marines in the battle.

Previously, the Ukrainian military inflicted losses on the Russian invaders who were trying to storm the village of Lastochkyne in the Donetsk region.
